OrangeChat video

It's been days since we criticized the local media, so let's make sure they know we're still paying attention. :-) The Chapel Hill News has added a weekly video clip to it's web site. The current show features Leah Friedman reading the paper's recent headlines and Meiling Arounnarath talking about the Carrboro mural with Jenny Chan.

I like how the video personalizes the reporters and some of the people in their stories. My only suggestion is to create a feed so that people can subscribe to video updates without visiting the site to see whether they've updated.

My favorite software to download video via RSS is Democracy Player.

Great to see the CHN forge ahead as the HeraldSun continues to accelerate their web presence in reverse....

Before the CHN was lagging the CarrboroCitizen (the Mill, Exile and Mercury included) for continuous content but this puts them in contention ;-) (got to love a media outlet horse race - we all benefit from their competition).

As far as publishing updates - I'd still like to see a CHN only RSS feed (opinion pieces, birth/death/legal notices, the whole shebang).

Well done Mark and crew....

The audio was good and the video was good & bad (they just need some experience/practice in various lighting situations, like backlighting).

Seconding what Will said, RSS for all of the various sections is the biggest thing missing from CHN right now. And the N&O needs a separate Orange County RSS feed. On a similar note, the DTH needs RSS feeds for each section.

She's standing next to my old desk.
