Obama is messing with us.

Many of OP readers stood in lines this morning aiming to obtain tickets for the Rally next week in Carrboro. Looks like he’s asking us to do it all over again tomorrow in many of the same places for a rally occurring Monday evening at the Smith Center.

Locally, tickets will be obtainable again at the Moorhead Planetarium and also at the Carrboro town hall. Will I get in line again tomorrow? Probably. I am such a sucker.

At least Obama is expected to be at this event.... Plus the campaign team learned from today and put the ticket distro across the street at Carrboro Town Hall. Where there is room for people to queue.
Anyone want to get a Monday ticket and trade with me?  I'd much rather see the
man speak than rock out to Superchunk for the billionth time.

I couldn't believe that Obama would actually show up at the Town Commons.  He had 35,000 people attend a rally in Pennsylvania!

I am just glad he is going to come here at all.   I am more excited about his candidacy than I have been about an election in years.

I am glad to see that once again, the Democrats are eating their own.

Makes it much cheaper for the Republicans.

Bring it on, Obama!

Whether or not the candidate comes to Carrboro Town Commons, a crowd will assemble on Friday afternoon to hear the Canadian band Arcade Fire, which is apparently wildly popular with the younger set.

I was a tinch dismayed to see that Obama is coming to the Dean Dome on Monday. This doesn't necessarily preclude a stop by Carrboro on his way to Raleigh for the Jefferson-Jackson Dinner, but makes it less likely.

Why is anonymous afraid to write it's name. Are you a real "person" or just here to remind us of the human beings we choose not to be?

Sorry Ruby, I forgot to log on when I wrote the last post 4/26, about anonymous.

I am not anonymous......

Today is Monday.  If Barack Obama is really coming to Chapel Hill tonight, it seems like the whole town would be getting ready by now (noon).  There's no mention of a Smith Center event on the Obama website, in today's N&O, or on WUNC.  No ticket table at Town Hall.  No news choppers.   Whazzup?

I don't think he's coming.

The ticket table isn't out because the event is full, and it's pouring the rain at the moment anyway. The Smith Center rally is listed on the campaign website, it's in the N&O here and on WUNC here. Doesn't noon seem a little early to throw up the choppers for an event that doesn't actually get started until 9:30pm? Maybe I missed some facetiousness. I can be pretty dense sometimes.

Catherine,

I've pasted in the informational email that went out to the campus community on Sunday. I think you have to sign up to receive these emails so it's possible not everyone got it - but I am not the last word on that.

Attention UNC Students, Staff, and Faculty:

An Early Vote Rally will be held at the Dean E. Smith Center on Monday, April 28. Smith Center doors will open at 7 p.m., with the program to begin at 9:30 p.m.

The ticket says not to bring bags in, I'm hoping they just mean large bags. What's a gal to do without a purse?

I have an extra Obama ticket for tonight.  I will give it to the first person who calls me and promises to make a donation to the Interfaith Council for Social Services.  Call me at 919-636-0371.

Late update: Ticket gone.

So?

How was the event?
