2012 General Election by precinct now up - (and hey Mark M White Cross almost passed transit)

Tracy Reams at the BoE sent me this today: "Good afternoon. Wanted to let you know that we have completed sorting through the 54,229 ballots cast prior to Election Day and the results are available on our website at http://www.co.orange.nc.us/elect/archive.asp. PDF is report by VTD (Voting Tabulation District) where all votes cast are reported in their home precincts."

Here is the direct link http://www.co.orange.nc.us/elect/documents/2012VTDResults.pdf all this should be graphed and mapped with spreadsheets on the state board website after Christmas

I'd note the following in a quick look at the.pdf file

Transit passed in 32 precincts -- all 30 precincts in Chapel Hill Township and in Hillsborough and West Hillsborough precincts. Highest margin YES were Weaver Dairy Satellite (Carol Woods) 87.8%, Town Hall 83.6%, Lions Club 79.39%, Owasa 78.9%, and Carrboro 76.66%. In the campus area Mason Farm (South Campus) was 68.1% yes. Westwood was 73.2%, Colonial Heights 71.4% and East Franklin 70.77%.

 Worst defeat was Caldwell where transit got only about 25% yes. Of the defeated precincts White Cross was closest with 617 yes and 640 no (thank you Mark M)
=================

Obama carried 41 of 44 precincts losing only Caldwell, Efland, and St Marys.  Biggest margin for Obama was in Town Hall where it went Obama 1437 (93.19%), Romney 78 (5.06%), Johnson 18, write-in 9. What's in the water there?

=====================

In the District 2 county commissioner race, counting just the district 2 precincts, Renee Price beat Chris Weaver 14,253 to 11,025.  I did not count Patterson where there is a small chunk of District 2 (Patterson as a whole voted better than 2-1 for Price) Of the 14  District 2 precincts wholly in District 2, Price carried 11, with Weaver taking only Caldwell and St Mary's and with Efland in a tie. County wide Renee won 51,197 to 20,773
