Academic training and professional background (since 1974) in environmental management: scientific specialties are plant community ecology/conservation biology); significant experience in open space protection planning, some areas of water resource planning, some areas of transportation planning (especially non-motor vehicle mobility).

Resident of somewhere in the southwestern quadrant of Durham County for most of four decades -- the last 18 years just east of the Orange County line in Chapel Hill.
