- I graduated from UNC Chapel Hill with a degree in Political Science and a minor in Environmental Science & Studies, and am currently a graduate student in Geospatial Information Science at NC State. Professionally, I worked for the past few years in the marketing department of Weaver Street Market, where I coordinated public relations and outreach. In the past, I also worked as Weaver Street's Owner Services Coordinator, as well as their Events Coordinator, so if you've been a co-op member or come out to an event on our lawn, chances are we've crossed paths at some point.
I'm currently a member of Chapel Hill's Planning Board, serve on the executive board of the Orange-Chatham Sierra Club, and until recently was the Third Vice Chair of the Orange County Democratic Party. I've also served in a number of local and statewide organizations over the past few years, including on the UNC Young Democrats Executive Committee, as a member of the Chapel Hill Transportation Board, as the student government representative to the UNC Advisory Committee on Transportation, on the Orange County Local Revenue Options Education Advisory Committee, and as a local issues columnist for the Daily Tar Heel. I also spent the past year as chair the Downtown Merchants of Historic Hillsborough.
I have been involved with OrangePolitics for several years now, including a stint on the editorial board (or the OP Posse, as we liked to call ourselves). While I have stepped aside from an "official" role in order to pursue elected office this fall, I look forward to remaining an active participant on the site.
