This Week in Orange Politics: June 22-28

With most of the county's budgets adopted things have started to slow down for the summmer, but there are still several public meetings of note acrosss the area this week. The Carrboro Alderfolks will talk police body camera policy and get an update on the Arts and Innovation Center, while the Chapel Hill Town Council will continue a public hearing on the potential 2015 bond. The Hillsborought Town Board will discuss a study on the attractiveness of the town, whil the county commissioners will review the county manager's performance.

Both of the county's school boards are on break this week.

CARRBORO BOARD OF ALDERPERSONS

CHAPEL HILL TOWN COUNCIL

  • Business Meeting: Monday, June 22nd, 7 pm @ Chapel Hill Town Hall
    • At their final meeting before summer recess, the Council will continue its public hearing on the November 2015 Bond Referendum
    • The Council will also consider an application for an SUP to expand the Grace Church
    • The Council will also receive a report on teh status of initiating an economic development agreement for the Edge.
    • The Council will also review a concept plan for expansion of the Siena Hotel.

HILLSBOROUGH BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS

CHAPEL HILL-CARRBORO BOARD OF EDUCATION

  • There is no meeting scheduled this week.

ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS

  • Closed Meeting: Tuesday, June 23rd, 6 pm @ Link Government Services Center
    • The Board will review the county manager's performance

ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF EDUCATION

  • There is no meeting scheduled this week.

MISCELLANEOUS

  • Breaking news: 2015 OP Candidate Coming Out Party and Happy Hour will be Friday, July 17th from 5:30 to 7:30 pm at DSI Comedy Theater in Chapel Hill. Mark your calendars and join us.
