Kevin Wolff

Follow-Up to "Open Letter to Kevin Wolff"

While I have this semester break, I thought I'd take the time to follow-up on the last blog entry I wrote addressing mayoral candidate Kevin Wolff and his...allegations. I sent a copy of what I had written directly to the campaign of Kevin Wolff and was promptly told by him (or his staff) in so many words that "with age and understanding",  I would one day learn not to be judgmental and that if he becomes elected, he will implement a 2 year plan to get Chapel Hill's homeless of the streets by meeting with each and every individual to address their personal issues (in which he invited me to get involved).

Just got a personal visit from Kevin Wolff

Just a head's up that Mr. Wolff is now canvasing in Southern Village.  He gave me a flyer that says "You must VOTE and voice your opposition NOW!" to keep our children and citizens safe.

I thanked him for running, but decided not to interrupt working to have a political discussion.  The flyer is interesting as it takes potshots at the current council and mayor.

He promises to "personally reduce the number of homeless people and the amount of pan handling throughout the city".  How is he going to do that?  Give them money out of his own pocket?  Personally provide job training in his home?

He talks about "my Smart Growth" process that will "Not force our desires into failed objectives that cannot be sustained by the present and future economy", insinuating that the current council doesn't listen to developers.

Interesting that he's not running for council...

WCHL Mayoral Candidate Forum

I am imgaine the reason this is so short (one hour) is that there isn't much to ask the challengers besides "who the **** do you think you are?" and then thank Mark Kleinschmidt for his service and polite patience with these bozos. Here's my favorite part of WCHL's story about this:

...challenger Kevin Wolff proposed the forum earlier this month, but hasn’t yet confirmed his attendance.

An Open Letter to Kevin Wolff, Candidate for Mayor of Chapel Hill

After reading an email about Kevin Wolff's "Warning to Chapel Hill Residents", I was inspired by the response from the men of the IFC shelter to write an open letter to Mr. Wolff regarding his allegations about the danger of moving the men's shelter near Homestead Park.

Mr. Wolff:

Community House Resident Responds to Wolff Flyer

Earlier this week, perennial Chapel Hill mayoral candidate Kevin Wolff disseminated a campaign flyer in the Homestead Park neighborhood telling parents that they should be very concerned about the men's transitional facility locating on Homestead Road, suggesting that when the shelter is located there "a child will be assaulted, molested, kidnapped, and/or killed in that park. It's not a matter of if this will happen... it is a matter of when." The full flyer can be read here.
