Did you vote early, did you vote today, what did you see? Any candidates at the poll sites? Any rude campaign workers?
And most importantly, where are the candidates' parties tonight?
I won't be attending any of them as I'll be glued to the computer watching results, phoning it in to WCHL occasionally, and then recording my customary election wrap up video. (Should I use Ustream again? http://www.ustream.tv/recorded/6682869 It's so full of ads.)
UPDATE: The polls just closed, and I'm adding this widget to show tweets about the election results:
Did you vote today or early? What's going on out there?
I expect some reports on this page from some the students who worked on the site this semester and hopefully other readers will chime in as you usually do. This year, we're also using Twitter to track election goings on, so I'm embedding a feed of the latest tweets tagged #OCNCelect (per last week's survey).
A great community tradition returns on Thursday, April 22: The 1360 WCHL Community Forum.
This year, we are inviting members of the community to send in suggested questions which may be used during the sessions. If you’d like to submit a question for consideration, please e-mail it to: 2010Forum@1360wchl.com
We’d love to hear from you!
Also this year, we are returning to our roots and presenting ten topics in ten hours. Below are this year’s topics and panelists who are scheduled to appear (a few others are still awaiting confirmation).
For those not familiar with the "WCHL Community Forum", it iso ur most anticipated single day of broadcasting of the year. The tradition of delving into and focusing on issues facing our community started many years ago… and brings together points of view of government officials, community leaders and citizens.
I hope you will be a part of the day by by sending in your questions.
As some of you may have noticed I am out of town for a 9-day trip to Austin, TX where I am visiting family and attending South by Southwest Interactive. I am still checking in here periodically, but don't have time for new posts. That means it's a great time to write that blog entry you've been thinking about, you don't have to compete with many other posts to get on the front page!
Soon after I get back, we should start seeing some of the work of the five students in a UNC class on Public Affairs Reporting for New Media, who will be focusing on the upcoming Primary election in Orange County.
Meanwhile, we haven't had an open thread in a while, so... how the hell are y'all?
