Where will you be?

Tomorrow's the square dance we've all been waiting for, and since there will be people gathering in all corners of our fair village, I want to extend an invitation.

If you're so inclined, please consider coming out to WCHL's broadcast. I'll be moderating live talks at Town Hall Grill in Southern Village from 7:30 until the results are all in. Notable guests will include Neil Offen, Kirk Ross and Ryan Tuck, editors of the CHH, the Independent and the DTH, respectively.

If you've already got plans for somewhere else, hey, great - your civic interest is worth it in itself. But if you're shopping for a place to go, keep in mind that we have complimentary FOOD from the host, free WIRELESS to suit your blogging needs, and the poll RESULTS as they happen.

We'll also have interviews with as many candidates as will speak with us, so even if you can't come (and I hope you will) tune in to 1360 AM for live coverage.

Personally, I will only be going to places to which I can walk tomorrow, and Southern Village is too far from downtown for me. I'll be at Open Eye Cafe in Carrboro and then the Library in Chapel Hill.

Looking forward to raising a glass to end of this election season!

I will be at home after the polls close-all are invited to drop by

I will be at Open-Eye. I keep calling it One-Eye, can anyone tell me why?

I imagine my supporters stopping the denizens of Carrboro and asking for directions to One-Eye.

When I arrived to the United States when I was 17 my malapropisms were legendary. Things haven't changed much, I suppose.

I'll be at the Library to celebrate the victories of Mark, Laurin, and Will!

I was pleased to get an invite to join Alex at his shindig. He and I go back a long way and although I've supported Mark this time around, I value Alex' friendship and his work on the BoA.

Well, I'm in the neighborhood, so maybe I will stop by. Who wrote this anyway?

My guess is Dan Siler of WCHL.

Amigos:

I will be at the "Ojo Abierto"
The Open Eye Cafe is energized and keeps growing and growing!

I plan to be drinking - Gatorate/ and coffee and monitor the results from the Herrera rapid response mobil unit (my old cheap lap top) and be joined by friends with kids after 7:30 pm, (Salsa and merengue CDs will be on hand just in case it gets to tense..
hasta la vista amigos, I have a long workday tomorrow!

Good Luck to all the candidates, their families and their volunteers who have given to this campaign their best shot and everything they got. It is truly an honor to participate in this race with such a dedicated and brilliant group of individuals who had demostrated with their actions their concern and love for Carrboro. !Que viva Carrboro!

Felicitaciones,
John Herrera

Dan Siler--no coverage for Carrboro???????

Happy Election Day -- We'll probably start at Town Hall Grill, then stop by Open Eye and wind up at OCSC.

As if y'all hadn't figured it out, we'll be at Orange County Social Club.

Thanks to Trish (the Carrboro Business Owner featured on our FSI,) Lee, Jen, Jeff, Matt, the entire OCSC crew, and Carrboro music and show community---who put together our a** kicking cradle show---for your enthusiasm for this effort. We'll be pulling the results down off wireless from the Century Center antenna.

C'mon over.

Cheers,
Alex

Good morning candidates, do you know where your voters are?

Still asleep, I hope.
:)

Someone having trouble sleeping??? Wonder why.
Good luck to both of you!

Ruby,
I was going to suggest you catch the NS route to Southern Village for a few hours, then catch it back to Franklin Street. But, of course, it ends at 7:30.
Totally off topic, but we need a B-line that does nothing but move customers along Franklin street and several shuttles that move people from Franklin Street to SV and Meadowmont.

Mary R and I will be playing the role of party girls tonight. We're flitting from one party to another. If you'd like to be added to our circuit, please let one of us know before 7:00 pm. :)

Who parties the most, winners or losers?

Terri, I'm flitting too! Can we perhaps coordinate?

Robert states "Ruby, I was going to suggest you catch the NS route to Southern Village for a few hours, then catch it back to Franklin Street. But, of course, it ends at 7:30.

At the cost of sounding like a broken record, for the additional cost of approximately $20 on a $6,000 tax bill we could increase our transit services by about 10% (assuming that Carrboro & UNC would increase their cost-share proportionately). I know that I don't have to convince you Robert, since you've expressed support in the past. But after the elections are over I hope we can begin to seriously consider how we might expand our transit system before the next wave of oil hikes come along.

Anita--the more the merrier! I'm at home until 4:00 pm.

Terry, I'm not sure who parties more, winners or losers, but I have a vague memory of not feeling very well at all the day after the election last year.

I spent the last election night kvetching with Alex Zaffron at OCSC, but alas, I suspect this year I shouldn't hold my breath for an invitation. Have fun you all.

And if you happen to be living down here in Pittsboro, please vote Voller and Baldwin, at least. They're our best chance for going a few months without a boil-water advisory. (How's that for a slogan?)
