Elections 2019

Local elections will be held on Tuesday, November 5, 2019, for the Carrboro Board of Aldermen, the Chapel Hill Town Council, the Hillsborough Board of Commissioners, and the Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools Board of Education.

Carrboro

In Carrboro, the mayor and 3 alderperson seats are up for election.

  • Voters will elect a mayor to serve a 2-year term for the seat currently held by incumbent Lydia Lavelle.
  • Voters will elect 3 alderpersons to 4-year terms.

Chapel Hill

In Chapel Hill, the mayor and 4 council member seats are up for election.

  • Voters will elect a mayor to a 2-year term for the seat currently held by incumbent Pam Hemminger.
  • Voters will elect 4 council members to 4-year terms.

Hillsborough

In Hillsborough, the mayor and 2 commissioner seats are up for election.

  • Voters will elect a mayor to a 2-year term for the seat currently held by incumbent Tom Stevens.
  • Voters will elect 3 commissioners to 4-year terms.

Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools Board of Education

In the Chapel Hill-Carrboro school board race, 4 seats are up for election.
