Thanks for the invitation to blog

This is my first post to OrangePolitics, and I just wanted to say thanks for the invitation to blog. I'm looking forward to getting to know as many of you as I can.

I believe we need to develop creative solutions to ensure a high-quality education for all, especially in this time of budget restraints. I look forward to discussing how parents, teachers, administrators, and the community can work together to improve education. Please let me know your thoughts and concerns, and ask me questions - I look forward to hearing from you!

In the meantime, you can find out more about my platform at http://www.maryannegucciardiforschoolboard.com.

Thanks for joining the fray, MaryAnne! (I'll update your web site address in the candidate list shortly.)

It was great to see a few candiates out there meeting voters today for the first day of early voting between you for school board, & Mark Kleinschmidt for Mayor, & Laurin for Council.  And congrats on getting the Young Dems endorsement!  I'm glad at least one candidate from all the races were out there (I only saw the 3 I mentioned for the 2 & half hours I was out there).  I know people get the sense that students don't vote enough to be worth reaching out to, but I really think that reaching out to them like this & to all voters who show up for early voting that would like to actually meet those running for office, this really helps!

Hmmm....the UNC Young Dems did not endorse any School Board candidates so how is it possible that MaryAnne got their endorsement? Just curious where you heard that from, Jake.
