The Orange County Campus is offering an important new program this upcoming fall, “Workplace Spanish for Health Care Professionals”. The purpose of the Workplace Spanish Certificate is to provide health care professionals with the tools they need to improve communication with Spanish-speaking patients and their families. This 17-credit-hour certificate program was established in 2010 in response to the growing number of Spanish speaking clients in the health care industry.
The program was designed for a broad audience of medical professionals including, nurses, doctors, technicians, and administrative staff. Students will develop listening and oral communication skills using a highly practical methodology. Course material includes highly interactive exercises that focus on applicable and relevant material designed and written for the health care professional. Courses are taught within a cultural context and include projects relevant to health care fields.
To find out more detailed information about admission procedures, plan of study, etc. we have scheduled two upcoming information sessions:
Tuesday, July 6 5:30–6:30 p.m. Orange County Campus (OCC)
Monday, August 2 5:30–6:30 p.m. Orange County Campus (OCC)

The candidates are known, and the races are starting to get under way. Campaign signs are starting to spring up around the county faster than the daffodils. And I know of at least three (edit: five) forums which are currently scheduled which I have added to the OP Calendar (a disclosure, I'm moderating the first one on the list). What else is going on in the local primary races so far this year, and what else are you doing to find out about the candidates?
